Dr. Nokubonga Khoza is a highly regarded specialist dermatologist who has recently relocated her practice from Durban to Johannesburg. With a focus on promoting healthy skin, hair, and nails, Dr. Khoza is dedicated to empowering individuals to face each day with confidence.
Dr. Khoza graduated from the University of KwaZulu-Natal's Nelson R Mandela School of Medicine in 2003 and obtained her Fellowship from the College of Dermatologists of South Africa in 2011. She has had the privilege of serving the Durban community through her internship and community service at Prince Mshiyeni Memorial Hospital, as well as her work at Kwa-Dabeka Clinic and St Mary’s Hospital. Throughout her dermatology training, Dr. Khoza has gained extensive experience in all major tertiary and district hospitals in Durban.
As an honorary consultant and lecturer at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Dr. Khoza is committed to advancing the field of dermatology by educating nursing students, medical students, and dermatology registrars. In her role as a liaison officer for the Faculty’s Exchange Programme, she has had the opportunity to collaborate with many emerging and established international experts in the discipline.
Dr. Khoza established South Africa's first Immunobullous Disease clinic at Inkosi Albert Luthuli Hospital, which she continues to run regularly. She has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and contributed chapters to dermatology textbooks on topics such as permanent hair loss, melasma, pigmentation, skin lighteners, skin infections, and autoimmune bullous diseases. Dr. Khoza travels extensively to attend international conferences and meetings to bring the latest scientifically proven trends and innovations to her patients in Johannesburg.

Dr. Khoza is an Executive Committee member of the Dermatology Society of South Africa (DSSA) and serves as the inaugural Secretary of the African Women’s Dermatologic Society (AWDS). She has also been a past EXCO member of the South African Society of Dermatologic Surgery (SASDS) and an inaugural advisory committee member of the South African Epidermolysis Bullosa Interest Group (SAEBIG).

- The Janssen Foundation Research Award Medal from the College of Medicine of South Africa (CMSA) for outstanding academic excellence.
- The inaugural "L’Oréal African Hair and Skin Research Grant" in Africa.
- The UKZN CHS Masters and Doctoral Scholarship in 2014.
- The International Society of Dermatology Global Scholarship Award in 2013.
- A Certificate of Appreciation from the African Women’s Dermatologic Society (AWDS) in 2017 for her commitment and contributions to dermatology.

Dr Khoza’s Passion
Dr Khoza, finds satisfaction and a sense of pride servicing the Durban community. She gives off her time freely educating the public on the commonest skin conditions seen within the community and how to address these. She believes knowledge is power and is key in making safe and healthy choices when it comes to skin health. Dr Khoza is frequently sought-after as a skincare and beauty expert, regularly contributing to major media outlets and consulting for several blue-chip companies.
